Just stopping by to introduce my self and my feather'd friends! Pam here I'm from Iowa. I am owned by Kiwi a sun conure :sun: And recantly just got a 20 yr. old Amazon named Jake :amazon: . I got interested in birds a few yrs. ago from a co worker , she owned a sun. Beautiful I thought! I want one BUT i was terrified of birds . Sooo I went to the pet store and told them I had been eyeing the sun they had and wanted it . But there was a problem i was scared of birds. i ASKED if they would work with me on it and they said sure! I went there every day after work and they worked with me with Kiwi and in 2 weeks I brought Kiwi home! :P Have had her for over a year now a year now . So decided i wanted to go bigger and was intreged (sp) by Amazons and now have Jake have had him for a little over a month now! I LOVE IT!!!!! :danicing: :thumbsup: This site is awesome by the way!!!!! :thumbsup:

Hey Pam, welcome to you ,Kiwi and Jake. I too have a amazon named Jake but she's a girl, i named her that when she was a baby(1970) she later laid an egg but we still call her Jake< Jakiepoo if she's being sweet< that's her in our avatar, good luck and welcome to the forum.

Looks like I found a fellow Iowan! I just moved here from Michigan and have only found a few bird people out here so far but I am hoping as time goes on there'll be a few more. In Michigan, I had a girlfriend that brought her birds over sometimes so they could paly with mine and it worked out quite well.
