Congrats on your new tenant!
I got my B&G when he was 8 mos. old, nine years ago. He says a lot of words and phrases. At a year old, Raine should be getting his own character by now. As far as the dander issue with a gray and a b&g, I will let you research that topic. Did you ever see Einstein the CAG on pet star animal planet?
Now owning a big bird some things may have to be done: bigger cage, plenty of destructable toys, toys that need some "work" to take apart or play with, wider diameter perches, a concrete or abrasive perch for nails and beak. They love nuts in the shell, harder the better. They are very strong birds: sharp nails can pierce the skin very deep, their strong beak can sever a finger or pinch the skin very deeply. Not to begin a new topic, but be careful if you shoulder the b&g. Careful with your eyeglasses, jewlery, earrings etc. Why do you never see a blind pirate...only pirates with one eye patch? Because they shouldered the parrot, looked great demanded a kind of respect from others, but once the bird plucked-out the pirates eye...once was enough, they learned their lesson.
Just be very careful with a bigger bird...they are so awesome
