Hello!!

Postby Sarah&Rico » Mon Mar 07, 2011 11:33 am

I'm Sarah, and I have a very sweet and beautiful Senegal Parrot named Rico! The beginning of our relationship was a bit rocky, with some bloodshed (not him bleeding...me! lol), but after a month or so we became great friends and now Rico and I have a wonderful relationship. Rico is about 3 years old, someone was giving him up because he and their new Macaw weren't getting along, and I'd wanted a Poi for a while, so it worked out. He is our one and only bird, tho we do also have 2 dogs and 2 cats...as well as 2 kids.
Oh I suppose I should mention, I'm from Ontario, Canada! I'm really looking forward to some warmer weather here, and soon spring will be here, thankfully. I'm planning on getting Rico a nice flight suit so he can come enjoy the sunshine with me.
OH and on my profile I mentioned that Rico is flighted....he isn't right now, since we went on vacation recently and figured clipping him would be safer while he was being watched by someone else. I intend to allow his flights to grow now that all is back to normal.

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know people on here, and learning even more. :senegal:

Oh and I tried my darndest to get an avatar on here, but no matter how small i made it it was a no go. Any tips?

Welcome to you and your fid!

As GlassOnion stated, there are many Senegals here on the forum, so there should be lots of help for your questions.

With regards to the avatar question, try looking here:

Thanks everyone! I've had Rico since November, he is about 2.5 yrs old, and I'm his 3rd home...poor little guy, but he's doing great! He's a real sweetie, and he seems very happy. Definitely a lot of sennie owners here, which is great...i can't blame people for wanting them, my Rico is a doll.
Thank you Roger for the info on the avatar, i'll check it out :)
