Re-Introduction

Hello again!

It's been a long time since Dan and I have been around. Since December I think. We still have our sweet babies. Apollo and Max . They are doing really well. They were hand-fed together and we have them in the same cage now. They seem to like it better that way. We'll see how that pans out when they come of age though.. we still have a second cage on stand-by. Dan and I are in the process of home buying (busy busy paperwork busy busy) and if everything goes well we're going to adopt a bird from a rescue called Wings Over the Rainbow (http://sites.google.com/site/wingsotr/). Maybe a ? There are several...SEVERAL there, and all of the ones I've interacted with are so so sweet. One hopped off her cage and walked across the room to get to me. See you guys around..

I love cockatoos...although you have to watch it. They are often known as the 'ADD' bird. They are best in a house where there is constant activity, a display bird at a petstore, or even in the waiting room for an avian vet. They need A LOT of attention...and if they don't get it, they express their frustration in other ways. Either by destroying things, biting, screaming, or plucking.

My sister-in-laws family use to have a Cockatoo. It was a family of 6, all of which are very familiar with how to raise and treat a bird. Anyway, it got to a point that the bird wasn't getting enough attention. It would bite, chase you to attack your feet, and scream a blue streak.

If you can give the cockatoo the attention it needs along with your two other parrots....they can be awesome feathered kids. Otherwise...?
