Hi all, I'm Ashley, "mom" to a 2 year old female lesser Jardine's (Fugi), a two year old male Hahn's macaw (Jax), and a plethora of other critters!
I purchased Fugi as a baby a year and a half ago, and she is my clown. She is fully flighted/flight trained, and knows a whole host of words and tricks. She was my first bird, and was really the perfect individual to "introduce" me to parrot ownership. She is a fantastic girl - sweet, friendly, outgoing, intelligent, and so on - and I have zero problems with her.
Jax came to live with me nearly a month ago. At two, he has already been bounced through multiple homes (we are at least his fourth.) He was terribly "cage aggressive", lunging at anything and everything that came near, at first. He sent one of my co-workers to the hospital after stripping the skin on her thumb (nearly down to the bone) and puncturing her hand multiple times in a single shot. He chased customers around, hissing and snapping at them, but he is such an entertaining and interactive little boy. He and I "clicked" as soon as we locked eyes, and after a vet check and month in quarantine at the store, I brought him home. He still has his issues, but has come quite a way in quite a short amount of time. He is also the reason I joined this forum!
