Hi from NY too!

Postby Vikki » Mon Mar 28, 2011 3:00 pm

My name is Vikki and I'm surprised I hadn't joined this forum sooner. I've been a bird lover for about 5 years now and live with my partner, Bryan, who has had birds all his life. We currently have 5...

Pickle, his 15 yr old Hahns Macaw
Ecko, a 25 yr old Hahns we adopted 2 yrs ago
Arthur, my 10 yr old Jardine who got me started on this kick
Merlyn, his 10 yr old Catalina that we adopted a year ago
Sebastian, my newest baby, a 6 yr old Harlequin Macaw.

Both of us volunteer at A Helping Wing Parrot Rescue, which is where we also go our adopted birds.... and I am sure there will be more. I have lots of experience with everything from clipping to behavior training and more if anyone has questions and I'm sure I will have some of my own as these fun feathered friends keep us guessing at every turn!

Thank you! I did fall in love with Sebastian's coloring from the moment I met him, but then had no choice in the matter since he immediately adopted me and wouldn't let anyone but me touch him. It was love at first sight! :danicing:

I am definitely a macaw person. Love them. As mentioned, I volunteer at A Helping Wing and I deal with all kinds of macaws, from minis to Hyacinths. If you have questions, feel free. If I don't have an answer, the couple that runs the rescue will. They've been doing it for years and have about 180 birds. :)
