Hey everyone! My name is Julie, I am from NC. I have a small flock right now. I have my 6 year old male cockatiel Piccolo, who is a big 'ol meanie and a trouble maker but we love him anyway. He loves attention- you just can't touch him. Everything has to be on his terms. I "rescued" him from a nasty, gross pet store from a cramped cage. He had butchered wings and is missing toes. He was being pooped on by the parakeets above him. I bought the biggest cage I could took him home and thought- what have I done.

By the next day he was singing, so beautifully. Glossy and bright, he came to life. I guess he is around 6, he was an adult when I got him and I've had him the better part of 5 years. I got the cockatiel bug, and months later found a hand fed baby girl and named her Clementine. She was the sweetest of sweets, my pretty girl was. We lost her a few weeks ago. Very sad. Over the years I've had parakeets and a Jenday conure. In the last few months we had been talking about getting a new fid, I knew I wanted another conure. I had been in contact with a breeder for a green cheek and was preparing for our new baby! I went to a bird store I love and trust to do some shopping for our new baby to be and out of the corner of my eye I saw a Quaker Parrot out and about. I tried to ignore the parrot, I thought I didn't like Quakers. I'd heard lots of bad things about them and was never a fan of the flock calling they did. Besides, I wanted a conure. Well, the little booger charmed me over to her, and won me. She snuggled me, kissed me, and curled up in my hair and went to sleep with her beak in my ear. I asked the store help about a million questions and spent a lot of time with her. I learned she was abandoned with a note, on their door steps. She was a year old. (At the time we didn't know she was a she!). I left. I couldn't leave the parking lot. I adopted her. I've only had her since 3/25, and the results of her DNA came in a few days ago. She is just the sweetest thing in the world! She did a good job picking me!
