Hello!

Postby GWmacaw » Wed May 18, 2011 12:59 pm

Hi, i´m Alexandra. I live in Denmark(but I‘m Iclandic ). I‘ve been coming to this forum for some time now and finally decided to join.

I have five birds. Two bourke´s, one normal and one rosy. The rosy one is called Baby and she is around 3 years old. She is not tame but she lets me handle her when necessary and cut her nails and give her a bath and so on. The other Bourke is Pacey he‘s also around 3 years old, he is tame. My Ringneck is around 2 years old, his name is Gillz. He is not tame but he gets to fly around the house all day long. He really is a charecter, he likes to steal candles, break out of his cage and tease people in all sorts of ways. I also have a Green-winged Macaw named Daisy, she is a little over 1 years old. She is fantastic, a little crazy(in a good way) and completly adorable. The newest additon to my flock is a 3 month old Budgie. I am pretty sure he is a male but im not going to name him untill I know his gender. All my birds are fully flighted. I used to clip them but decided to try and let them be flighted and I saw a huge difference, I will never clip a bird again. They are so much happier when fully flighted.

Welcome to the parrot forum, glad to have you here. It's wonderful that you and your parrots have discovered the joy of flight. If you have some time, check out my parrot training blog because dealing with a flighted parrot can be a hand full and is constantly on my mind. It's totally worth it though and we're all still figuring it out.

How do 3 parrots of such VASTLY different sizes and backgrounds get along with each other?

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

All my birds get along great and they can be outside of their cages all at once in the same room. I have never had any problems, but because of their size differences they are of course never left unsupervised together.
