Postby Lynn » Thu Jun 02, 2011 1:40 am

Hi, Iv had my ringneck Lola for a couple of weeks , she has took a treat out of my hand twice but most of the time just goes round and round my hand, should I try to get her out of the cage or am I best working with her on the cage????? She has not had her wings clipped
Thanks

Hi Lynn. I am a new IRN owner myself. My bird is named P.J. and he is just over three months old. I have had him for almost 4 weeks. Have you tried opening your birds cage to see if he/she will come out?

Mine is very curious and came out within the first few days. Mine loves red bell pepper sluces, sunflower seeds(unshelled and unsalted) and peanuts ( unsalted, and in the shell). Make sure you aren't giving her sunflower seeds in her normal diet and you can probably get her to take those from you. I have sat on my couch eating some healthy cereal ( organic granola) and he will hop over and get on my shoulder and of course I will share with him. :)

I have sort of a journal going with my experiences with P.J. on another forum called BirdBoard.com. Feel free to check it out. I'm learning as I go, but I want so much to stay ahead of P.J. because I really don't want to mess up with him.

Good luck to you and I hope you make some progress soon.
P.J.- :irn: (hatched 3/15/11- flighted)
