Hello from Nevada, USA

Postby rusty_violet » Thu Jun 30, 2011 8:47 pm

Hi, new to this forum and we adopted 2 birds and thought what a great resource! First we adopted Echo, he's a 5 yo CAG. His owner had to foreclose on her home. He's a great bird (if only he wouldn't poop in his water several times a day). We've enjoyed him so much. :gray:

Our 2nd adoptee is Joey (formerly Jody). She is a 30 yo Orange Winged Amazon. Her mate had passed away. I was looking for a 2nd bird for us and came across her. She's my widow bird as her mate had passed away. She's a wonderful bird as well. :amazon:

Look forward to getting to know other bird owners and sharing information.

Aww. Its good to know wonderful birds are being adopted. I hate it when I come home and the water has poop in it or its all over the place because my amazon felt like giving himself a bath (yet can't stand when i give him a bath).

In the morning I give them fresh water. And I swear, not even an hour later, there will be poop in my cockatiel's cage. I don't know how he manages that everyday.

Ya. I switched to a water bottle (like the ones in hamster cages) and all was going well (no bird soup on the wall lol) until i came home one day and the water was all over the floor. Turns out he bit through the plastic bottle. Then I got a glass bottle, but my amazon always manages to knock it down. I think its his mission to destroy everything in his cage so he gets something new.
