The parrots need wood to chew on for their beaks. Toys are almost anything. I save the plastic lids off everything, run them through the dishwasher, put them in a box and let them scavange. They love to tear them up and throw them on the floor. They are also good at throwing peanut and almond shells on the floor.

Hi Rachel, Back to your post of Sunday, I wouldnt be using glad wrap. I would be worried sun would chew it and maybe swallow it. It is not safe for kids cos if they swallow it, it could block/cover their windpipe and they would not be able to breathe, but thats just my opinion, maybe someone more knowledgable will adivse you. Also, ensure the toilet roll has no glue on it and it was from unscented, enviro friendly cardboard. We have to look after our little birdy babies as if they were little human kids. Its getting closer, not long now. How many names have you gone through/over now, I know if it was me, I would be up to name 257. I have decided to call my gcc Sasha (if and when I get him/her and its a unisex name). Lynne

Hello again!
Thanks for clearing up the glad wrap, I didn't know if it was all to safe either...
Thats a cute name! I was thinking of Sasha actually LOL, but Mum and I were getting our nails done, For a special wedding sorta thing we were maching, hehe, ANYWAY, We were talking about names, and the lady said Tequila, Like a Tequila Sunrise, Mum and her said it together, I don't know if it's a saying or song, but Tequila, i liked it cause of the craziness of alchahol, and the beauty of it being in the sentence of sunrise, right now I'm on Tequila lol
Thanks a LOAD Rachel =) :sun:

I'm with you guys! I bought my new Senegal lots of fairly expensive toys and he ignored them all and went for the cardboard tube for a loo roll instead!! I haven't tried him with the foraging toy yet as waiting for him to get a little bit older before giving him that one.

I have used plastic bottle tops (well washed), and simply twigs (also well washed) plus the 'stalks' of millet ( my cockatiel used to play with this for ages!!)

Cheap is defintely best!

Yes defunantly cheaper I have heard of dozens of stories of birds chewing up $50 toys in 2 hours and $50 toys never being used... I can't wait until the supplies I ordered come in!
