OK guys I have $164.00 saved up so far!!! The cage I want is $119.00 and the Cockatiel is $50.00!!! I need to hit atleast $200.00 in order to get everything I need! Getting $215 would be perfect! That way I know I have enugh money!!!
Owning a bird takes a lot more than just the price of the bird and supplies. Food, perches, toys, and vet visits take up the majority of a parrot owners budget and makes the price of the bird minuscule in perspective. See this topic for more details about how expensive it is to own a parrot. In other words, don't be surprised to spend over $200 a year, every year, to own a bird like that. Quite likely even more.
Yes I do realize that I'm just talking in general that when I get it, it should be around $200 that it will cost. Yes, I do know taht it will cost over $200 including food, toys, and perchs. I was just saying that that's aproximately the amount that I'll need. >_>
No i dont use newspaper. We just moved into a condo and had not set up to get the mail here so i had to buy bedding.i dont get my first newspaper till next sunday .
Hmm wel I found discounts and what not so most of the stuff you put is probaby going to be a bit less..... But yea I should be good with money my dad's going to find ways I can make money in the neighborhood and around the house.
well i reccomend babysitting? I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and we pay our babysitter 12.00 an hour. (minimum wage here is 8.00). thats a good way to make money.
house sitting? dog walker? gardening? pet sitting? cleaning peoples cars?homes?
When you do get newspaper, you should use that instead. So much easier, and sanitary. Also, it is important to monitor droppings *daily* for signs of illness, and the use of newspaper makes this VERY easy.
