Michael wrote:Welcome. Sad story, but glad the bird found a good home. I caution you to wonder what baggage this bird comes with if someone was so eager to just dump it off at a store. There could be more than meets the eye. Cape Parrots can be really sweet but if they get aggressive, that's a heck of a big beak to take a chomp from. Regardless of how tame the bird is, I suggest working on taming from scratch anyway to develop a training relationship:

Thanks Michael, I will take and follow your advice. I have had Piper since Thurday evening. He has not displayed any aggression. Just a little uneasy when I approach too fast, but he is very sweet so far. He allows me to pet his head and wings once he is perched on my hand.

I hear ya about his nice sized beak...no fun to get bit by anything.

Can't believe someone dumped a Cape... Capes are pretty rare, and very rare in Canada. I've been eyeing to get a female in the future. :) Post photos of your Piper, I'm sure he's a very handsome boy!!

Not only all of the people have said, who would have dumped such a perfectly awesome and sweet cape? :cape:
