I started out with a pair of abandoned and abused cockatiels, I tried for a year to get them socialized and interacting with people but they never changed their ways. It broke my heart to give them to a friend with an aviary, but he tells me they are doing wonderful and they both even have girlfriends now and seem to be very happy
The next bird I got was my special little lovebird Scooter. Scooter is Splay-legged, both of her legs stick straight out to the side. She was brought into my store, and the "owners" said if we didn't take her they were going to put her down. I couldn't let that happen so I took her home and hand fed her till she was weaned. She will be a year old in October and she is one of the happiest lovebirds you'll ever meet. Odin in my most recent bird, I just got him a month ago. He's a wonderful little Hahns. I just wish Scooter and him would get along...maybe in time. I love both my birds with all my heart and I couldn't imagine life without them!
