New to the forum

Postby dohcsvt » Fri Aug 19, 2011 11:27 am

Hello,
I found this forum after seeing Michaels video on youtube and visiting trained parrot.com. My wife and I have two birds. A Green chheck Conure :gcc: named Ollie that is about 2 years old and a sun conure :sun: named Stanley that is about 1 year old. We got these guys about a year apart and enjoy them immensely. I have ordered the training perches in hopes of greater interaction with my birds. We watch TV every night and eat supper together, but I think they have so much more poential. Also, my wife just applied to adopt a macaw :macaw: from a local rescue, so we may have a new family member in the next little while. I hope to learn much here and maybe give a small amount of input from the short period of time that I have owned parots. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. You will find many knowlegable parrot parents here.

We look forward to hearing about Ollie and Stanley. Would enjoy seeing pictures too if you are not as technology impaired as I.

Key into the search to see what has already been discussed about their species.

They are beautiful.

My cockatiels and lovebirds get along and even get mixed up in the flock.
Myrtle wants to be friends with Rambo. All he wants is to raid her cage when she is not looking.

Thanks for the pic. I knew the Sun was a bit bigger than the GCC, just didn't realize how much. Your pic finally put them into respective.

That pic is s;lightly out of whac as the sun is a little closer to the camera, but it is close. I will try to get a better pic later.

I just got a shower perch today, and Stanley likes it better than sitting on the door, but he still is not extremely keen on showers. I don't try to get him wet, I am waiting on him to make the first move, but he gats a small amount of splashes. Hopefully with the perch I will take him into the water more often and hopefully he will get used to it.

Thanks for all of the responses.
