Hi,
I'm new to the Parrot Forum community. I have a male Lutino cockatiel. His name is Quinn and he's about 1.5 years old. If someone had told me a few years ago that I was going to fall in love with a bird I would have told them that they were crazy. The minute I saw him I knew he was going to be very important in my life. He is literally like my child (I know all pet parents say that) and he is now going through the birdie terrible twos which has been quite an experience. I have spent many sleepless nights worried about how much he is eating and how much he weighs after he lost a few grams over the summer. After many tests we found out there is nothing wrong with him, it's just hormones. Thank goodness! I am happy to say that he seems to be back to "normal". He is a lovable little character who makes friends everywhere he goes with his flirting and whistling. It would be nice to chat with folks on here who know what it's like to raise/own birds. Most of my friends/family/coworkers think I'm kind of nuts to put so much time and attention into my feathered friend. As someone at work (who has two parrotlets) told me "It takes a special kind of person to own a bird". LOL
Anyway, I look forward to reading everyone's bird tales and posting some of Quinn's.
Sarah
