new from london

Postby konceppt » Wed Aug 24, 2011 1:25 pm

Hi all.

My name is Ben and i am new to the forum and to parrots.I live in london in the uk.I have had an interest in parrots for a long while after seeing a show at longleat years back.I am an animal lover anyway but concentrate most of my time on tropical fish breeding and my dog.My interest has been sparked again when we found a small bird under a truck at work (assumed a small parakeet) I was amazed to see how tame it was, happily stepping onto anyones hand and walking up their arms to sit on their shoulder.Luckily i think my boss contacted someone on a uk forum and they knew who the breeder was and came to collect.

Since then i have been doing some serious studying and after deliberation on a suitable species and getting the go ahead form my wife,I have decided i may get a senegal parrot.I thought before i did,i should register on this forum and find out what i can in order to arm myself with some knowledge before buying.Mainly to avoid buying from the wrong people based on false information.

Looking forward to learning all i can and i am really excited about the prospect of owning my own senegal.Once i find out the correct requirements in terms of equipment etc

Thanks
Ben

Welcome to the forum. We are very glad to have you join with us.

Yes - you need to arm yourself with information. Not just to know how to buy but how to deal with that breed. They are like having children in the house.

I have a 20 year old :amazon: rambo equivalent to a 6 year old boy. Then I have a 1 year old :amazon2: Myrtle equivalent to a 2 year old girl just starting to talk and play all day. As well as test me along the way to see what she can get away with.

I also have:
:greycockatiel: Shadow & :pied: Sweetie
:pied: Lemone' & :greycockatiel: Twinkle
:greycockatiel: Tommy & :greycockatiel: Tammy
:swaying: :swaying: Tweetle Dee & Tweetle Dumb

My children keep me busy.

Key senegal in the search to bring up past postings until a senegal owner contacts you.

Hi,

I have done nothing else for the past 6 hours since i got home.I think i have read every bio and owners post on the internet as well as watched every senegal parrot video on youtube.I am just in the process of advertising all my fish tanks and fish for sale to raise the funds.
I would appreciate it if there is anyone on here that could point me in the direction of a reputable senegal breeder in the uk? :senegal:

I am the only house bound. The others are in school or at work. They will find you when they get home.
