Soon to be a Senegal mama!

Postby Bri » Thu Aug 25, 2011 10:49 am

Hi everyone my name is Bri as you can see and I've already posted a couple questions on here but I thought I'd let everyone know I decided against the bird fair coming up and am getting one from a breeder. "She" is 6 months old right now and knows how to step up, however so far her "dad" has really been the only succesful one handling her. I'm hoping it wont be too difficult for her to accept me. But anyways I'm just waiting on the cage I ordered online to get here and I need to get a couple more toys, a carrier, and food before I set up a day and time to meet up with the breeder since it'll take me 8 hours there and back. But I'm very excited and I'm pretty sure I'm set on naming her Sunny. He's going to send me the contract and pictures later so I'll post the pics for you guys to see too.

Which how do I post a picture on here lol?

And any ideas on a carrier that wont cost me too much?

Welcome!

About the carrier, you can get a good quality cat carrier for not too much and turn it into a bird carrier. All you will need is a perch (one that screws on) a drill, some zip ties, a toy (optional) and a food bowl (optional but good for long journeys in the carrier). Here's one of michaels articles which tells you how to make one http://trainedparrot.com/index.php?bid=29&article=Building+Parrot+Travel+Carrier+For+Truman. Good luck!

Thanks :] I think I fixed the pictures now hopefully.

And thanks for the carrier suggestion but I actually found a money and time saver at a petstore! It's a small animal travel cage but it also came with a perch, it will work perfectly and it was only $15 :D
