Hello from Iceland!

Postby parrot_junkie » Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:36 am

Hi everybody,
just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to this forum.

Me and my fiance own 2 parrots and 2 parakeets.
All of my birds are secondhand birds and some especially one in particular has been quite a challenge.

That is my black headed caique Ringo. He is very fearful and improvement has been very slow with him, but I am determent to not give up on him as there are way too many birds passing from home to home and I don't want him to go through that again.

I also own a CAG "Bella" who has a deep connection with my fiance, but she still can spend time with me without any problems. :)

My indian ringneck "Bono" is adorable and loves everybody it seems, sadly he seems to like my caique a bit too much and I've been having trouble dealing with that sometimes.

We also own a budgie who is very tame and likes our company and does actually know a few words. His former owner was a young girl that lost interest in keeping a pet.

I am always looking for new tips on care and training etc. and that's why I joined the forum, I am looking forward to hearing about your methods and ideas.

haha... they don't seem all that bothered by it, on the other hand they might not know what they're missing :)

Hello!! Just wanted to say hello to everyone as I am new here. We just got our first bird..a Meyer's parrot a few days ago and we are all in love. He (we are calling it a he) is very sweet and we are fighting over his attention. This is a great forum! Have learned lots!! I used to be a HUGE lover of plug-in air fresheners but no more thanks to you guys. I have done lots of reading and am nervous that we will raise him (he is approx 11-12 weeks old) incorrectly and reinforce bad behaviours. If you guys could give one piece of advice to a new bird owner what would it be?? Thanks in advance :swaying
