Hi There! New here!

Postby Nessiejean » Sat Nov 05, 2011 10:52 am

Hi Everyone! I am Stephanie from Ohio. I have two Java Finches named Peep and Eeep and a Blue Front Amazon named Goo who has been with me almost two months now. He has a very strong personality! I know that I can learn a lot from all of you on the forum and would like to start some more involved training with Goo. The breeder clipped him, and I would like to have him flighted in the future. He does step up and is tame but he does bite me pretty hard at least once a week. I dont think he cares much for women because he instantly took to my boyfriend and my grandfather and will let them touch him... I have to be more hands off right now. :/ Nice to meet all of you!!!

Nessi - it could be that your BF was raised by a man and is not familiar with women. Give it time. He will learn that you are important to him and consider you special. He is a beauty.
My Myrtle was a year old when I got her in April. She is my April Fool. The woman told me she never came out of her cage and never made a noise. While I sit here she is zooming me and gets a strand of my hair on her way by just to make sure I noticed. She is a chatter box equivalent to a two year old kid. If she doesn't think of something to say she just makes cute little noises. She bonded to me first because I was the one who saved her from her previouse life. She is expanding her friendships with the rest of the family and has claimed two of my friends as hers too.

Michele - I feel sorry for you at this time of year. Our temps have been going into the 40s at night and not making it to the 70s during the day. I am from the northern panhandle of WV just outside of Pittsburg. I like it much better here. Every year I got older it seemed colder.
