I'm still in the US but I will be living in Australia in a couple of months. We are going to wait
more than a year before we get birds though I'm just trying to learn now. I want to make sure that we know how to take care of the birds. there happiness is important and if I can't give them that there is no point (I however can however promise them the best food
(we love to grow plants and I grew up farming and seamus(my bf) is a good cook as well so we will have no problems getting them varied healthy food), housing along with a large cage that they will only be confined to while we are
both out we want to make them an aviary outside to fly in, and give them lots of toys and play time. me and my boyfriend are both animal lovers and feel that pets are family and should be treated as such

)
On the weening... the only reason I was considering it was so that we could raise a grey and a cockatoo together and nest mates... if they fought and one got hurt it would break our heart. I do know I have the patience to hand feed a pair of birds every hour of every day if needed and I have steady gentile hands. I get a strong mothering instinct for any animal and would love to devote my time to their care. I would hope to volunteer to help a breeder or some one who happens to have breeding parrots before I adopt my own pair so I would know what to do and how to look for problems and what I should do when those problems do happen. Australia has very strict laws about animals
which I love they only have one rescue organization I could find and it has a waiting list for adoptions, not that many are abandoned. Importing a rescue bird from the states btw isn't an option because from what I can tell they don't allow
any birds in. which is why I'm hoping to find an aviary for my budgies I have now

I'll miss them but I think they would be very happy in an aviary I just have to find one that will provide them with good quality food and care even if I have to send them a boarding fee for the rest of my birds life I want to know they are happy and live a good life.
