Hey Everyone!! New Here!

Hey all, my name is Kylie, I'm 25 from the Hudson Valley NY. I do not currently own any birds, and I honestly never have, but I have absolutely fallen head over heels in love with a parrot at the pet store I just started working at (not sure what kind she is, some kind of amazon I think, I forgot to look, I work again tomorrow so I'll look), and now I'm seriously thinking about adding one to my life (maybe her if I can find the money)

So I decided to join a forum and learn as much as I can about having a pet parrot, and see if having one in my life would be something I could do!

Welcome! It's great that you work at a pet store because you'll be able to get experience taking care of birds and dealing with the noise and mess before you get one of your own. Birds are great companions and I wish you luck finding the right bird for you!

I suggest you start by reading about different species of birds. Every one is an individual, but there are generalizations about each species that will help you determine which one fits your lifestyle. What kinds of things are you looking for? Really playful and clownish, or more calm? Do you like birds that make lots of noise, or do you live in a place where you need a quieter bird so as not to anger neighbors/family members?
