Reguritation

Postby NoodlesMumma » Wed Dec 28, 2011 11:01 am

Hello All!
I am the very proud owner (or should I say, she is the proud owner of me) a beautiful 9 month old green cheek conure! She is starting to talk, however she is really starting to regurgitate quite frequently. It ususally only happens when she's on myself or my mother. I know this is natural behaviour and I never yell at her or repremand her for doing it, however, does this behaviour necessarily indicate that she thinks I am her mate? and will this behaviour ever stop? Thanks!!

No. Her first feeling of being loved was when she was fed warm food. That was her first contact. She is trying to show you love.

Every once in a while when we are playing tickle on my shoulder, Myrtle will try it. I just touch her beak and tell her no softly. Then I tickle her again to show her she was not bad. Sometimes I grab her foot and kiss her leg to distract her.
