hello, first how long has he been with you? it takes them a little while to adjust to a new home, i had the same problem with my first even though we grew up together since he was my grandmother's bird until she died. unfortunately she kept him caged we could talk to him and give him head scratches through the bars of his cage.my grandother had a stroke and died in front of him.my aunt took over her house and a few months later my mother went over to visit and found him in the closet,so she took him home.my mother is ocd cannot stand mess so i took him into my room. i have never liked to see a bird in a cage so i fought with him for months taking him out only to have him go right back in i knew nothing about these birds he was a blue fronted amazon who would bite me whenever i put my hand in the cage.i started eating in my room with the cage opened and when he came out i would share my food with him it still took a while but he got over his fear of the world outside and we had 17 happy yrs until i lost him last year now i have 2 one green cheek conure i got for him and one ducorps cockatoo i got for the green cheek when cebal died.good luck with your little guy with time and work they give love like no other.
