Help With Pictures-Why Large & Cut Off?

Postby Maria » Fri Dec 30, 2011 2:43 pm

Is there some type of setting I can set on my account here on this site, so that when it brings pictures in, the pictures are not cut off? Does it re-size them or something to fit or post within the forum with the right settings I set on my end, within my account here on the site? It's usually the right side of the pictures that are cut off (rest of picture & text I put on it and stuff not showing). What I'm noticing is that looks like it also has to do with the left side of the posting, where all our individual information lists next to our posts (left margin area) - (our screen name and stuff).

I've tried posting every which way I can think of, and they still get cut off. I have them on photobucket, and am using the Img code. But I see everyone else's pictures are not cut off, they're showing the whole picture. It's got to be something simple. What am I doing wrong? LOL.

I now have 3 new christmas pictures of my baby which I would like to post, and this happened when I posted them, upon my previewing them, so I didn't post them. They're showing cut off.

Please tell me how to do this.

Thanks :D

Photos must not be wider than 575px. You need to reduce the size of your photos so that they are 575px wide or less. Otherwise the excess beyond 575px to the right gets cut off. If you are unfamiliar with resizing photos, the avatar resizing tutorial shows a way of doing this and just aim for 575px instead. The recommended way of posting photos on the parrot forum is to upload them to photobucket, flickr, or other site and post using the (img) tags. Otherwise you can upload as an attachment. I think attachments are automatically downsized to fit but keep in mind there are limits on attachment upload size anyway.

I have no idea Michael. I'll have to look into this more later. I have one picture that is 396KB, one that is 300 KB, and one that is 346 KB. How do I find out how many pixels they are?
