I will try to get some better video to possibly post a greater sense of his recent behavior. For about 2 months now, Wallie ALWAYS reacts to seeing my father in a certain way. Whenever my father comes home from work or enters the living room and Wallie takes notice of his presence, Wallie will stop what he is doing and begin to yell/squawk at my father. Now i mean yell as if he is a T-Rex dinosaur and is trying to intimidate all and whomever is around. At first i read up on certain parrot behavior and thought it may have meant that Wallie felt as though my father was a threat and could cause harm to his flock and he was trying to push/scare my father away. But in reality i believe my parrot LOVES my father. As well as the initial yelling/squawking, wallie flies and jumps on my fathers head. It's gotten to the point where my father comes home from work and puts a baseball cap on so he doesn't have to be startled by Wallie flying and jumping onto his head.
After the initial 5-15 minutes of squawking, and harassment of my father Wallie tends to be very calm and follows my father around the house and is attached to him at the hip (in a good way). My father has to indeed bring him into my room and close the door behind him to make sure he doesn't fly back to him to hang out. Has anyone ever experienced such a situation? Any ideas? Suggestions? I will try and get better video of the action because it is really difficult to explain. Thanks guys.
