Welcome Packer!

Postby packer » Mon Jan 16, 2012 10:06 pm

Hi! My name is Kim and I am the now proud and frustrated owner of a beautiful Sun Conure named Packer (Green Bay Packers!) He's a pretty good boy, only 6 mo old, so very juvenile. He started out biting and now just pinches, but it is getting less and less. The screaming is another issue! :sun:

He is just a little baby screaming for attention. Don't give direct response to his screams. Just like a baby he will learn to scream for attention. Try to include him more in your day. He came from a busy place with other birds and needs more enrichment now.

Thanks for the advice. He can be a real stinker and a real lover and he is very spoiled. I am an artist and I can't get much done unless I put him in his cage. I really don't get much done. My biggest enjoyment is to give him a bath and then watch him preen for about an hour. His coloring is so beautiful!

You could buy/make him a playgym and hang toys from it to keep him busy. You should also teach him how to forage. This will keep him busy and exercise his little brain. ;) Here are some great videos/articles to help you get started:
