Hi! From Toronto, Canada

Postby allirho » Tue Jan 24, 2012 12:07 pm

Hello :)
I'm a new member from Toronto, Canada.
Skimming down the front page of the introductions, I didn't seem to see many others from Canada.
Anyway, I've owned birds in the past (as a child) but this is the first time I've had one to take care of myself.
I recently got a baby hand fed and tame budgie. I named him (or her, the budgie is still too young to tell) Tamago, which means egg :hatching: in Japanese. It seemed fitting for a little bird :)
I'm looking forward to making friends and getting advice!

Hi there, and welcome. I too, am new to this Forum, and reside just outside the GTA. I have two Lovebirds and looking at purchasing a Poisaphalus Brown Head. Anyone in the GTA area know of any reputable breeders in or just out of the GTA, Canada??? :swaying:

hi, i'm new to this forum, i have female maximillian pionus as well as a variety of finches and canaries, are there any other pionus owners out there, i've had mine for about 9 months, it has to be the laziest bird i ever met, it's out of its cage most of the time, but just plods about on top of its cage, not really interested in toys, chews up cardboard, the only time it wakes up is when i vacuum, when it has a bath, at first i thought it a coincidence but it does it all the time, it won't use a proper bath just its water pot, i had a jendaya conure before and he never stopped, i'd like to get a bit more activity from her as i'm worried she'll get fat, she has a parrot seed mix and really loves her veg, shes not wing clipped, she seems very content just bone idle

Welcome Alice and Tamago. I'm also from Toronto, are you Japanese? I laughed because my girlfriend taught Roxy our parrot a few Japanese words, tamago isn't one of them but she loves egg and rice so maybe she should learn that. lol

Lovebird Lady: Have you tried WanderingWings Aviary in Burlington? I'm not sure if they have brown-heads but she breeds African parrots.
