Hi, i'm new.
I don't have a parrot yet, but i'm getting one when i move to something bigger.

I want an Amazone :)

I've been reading about it all for months.
But does a parrot need a heating lamp as grown?

And if i get the parrot a "stick" to sit on (you know what i mean, sorry, english isn't my native tongue) will it sit there fairly quietly or will it walk and fly around?

And how often to give food?

hi,parrots are not quiet,no they do not just sit on a stick.i give my birds pellots/fruit in morning, cook their dinner, plus treats.water is changed at least twice daily depending on what they feel like dipping in it or decide to bath in it. their cages and playstands are all in windows for sunlight. i would strongly recomend you find a rescue and volunteer before you get a parrot.

Hi there, I agree- volunteering in a bird/parrot rescue is a great idea and will give you a real appreciation for how much work and care they need!
Also, many parrots live for a very long time so are a big commitment for life, really.
Do hang out on here, get lots of ideas, do lots of reading, watch all Michael's vids, and give it some time before you decide on anything.
