Err, hi.
My name is Gina and I've been a parrot enthusiast for around 6 years. My first parrot passed away tragically due to a genetic issue. He was wonderful and the first real death I had to deal with, so it's still a huge sore spot.
But we have Molly now, a Peach Fronted Conure. We found her in a Pet Supplies Plus. She was very skittish and was terrified of everyone. She was originally bought from the store and then returned; we think she was abused. She is absolutely terrified of sudden noises and new people, and simply cannot bring herself to trust men. She is a bossyfeathers and thinks she runs the whole house. She's incredibly vain and likes to trick my fiance.
We also rescued a Mourning Dove named Sugar. She was forced from her nest by her mother, who decided that she couldn't handle it anymore. She couldn't walk and she sustained damage to her head when she fell. She is more or less fine, but she has absolutely no survival instincts or skills, and so she lives with us. For example, she's incredibly aggressive towards anything that frightens her. Like shoes, tubes of cream, receipts, gallons of milk, boxes of chocolate, books, etc...
But um... Yeah. Hello! As for myself, I am an artist and writer. Right now, I am working as an illustrator. I run a blog, which used to have many more intelligent articles than it already does. Haha.
Also, the parrot smilies here are so cute.
