HQ, Avian Adventure or A&E Cages for Brown Head?

Postby Lovebird Lady » Tue Feb 21, 2012 9:04 pm

Hello there, I am the proud owner of two hand-fed peach-faced Lutino Lovebirds, both males, who detest each other, so we keep them in separate cages side-bye-side. I do believe that they take some comfort in each other's presence/company during the day when we're at work. They do get lots of flight time each morning when I feed them and change their water, and again at night when they fly freely around the house under our supervision.
We are now looking at adopting a Brown Head (Poicephalus) baby and are looking at purchasing a Playtop cage but not sure on the make. I read that the white cages are more likely to have zinc in the paint, and would like feedback on the differences in quality between the HQ, Avian Adventure and A&E cages. I read that A.A. are not the same quality they once were prior to being bought out by Midwest.
Also, does anyone have any experiences with behaviors between males and females Brown Headed Parrots?
We reside in the the GTA area (Ontario) and are also wanting to know if anyone out in this area has had any experience with Breeders of the Brown Headed parrots. We know there are breeders in the York Region and also in the Guelph area.
Thank you :swaying:
