Just wanted say my Hi's new bird owner also:-)

Postby ShamusCrowley » Wed Mar 14, 2012 8:03 am

Hello all,
I won't say long hi using I phone keyboard.I am recent new owner of three parrots ,This is first time in life I ever considered birds now I wish I was introduced a long time ago I have dog's my whole life always had special relationship with them .Well my wife one day while visiting friend brought home her conure swepee OMG Me and him connected eye's and it was best friends from there. My wife put him on my shoulder and said"He might bite "So I was causios to touch him then all of a sudden he snuggled down next to my ear and starting giving little churns (so cute) .Well if you have not guessed my wife did not want him to bond to close to me so she found my two awsome Conure's. All three of conures get along great are happy pee's in pod. Well month later walked into pet store and had eye contact with a Whitecap pionus named Micky he had spent his whole life at store about year and a half. They had started to lower price me and my wife were falling in love with him and he was so excited when we visit finally they marked him down again and we grabbed him. So I am a bird lover now BUT no more bird's I can only give so much love :-). So much for short .

Sounds like you have your hands full. :D

I am a new bird owner also. Got a 5month old Senegal parrot about 3 weeks ago. He isn't as cuddly as your birds. More of an independent spirit, but I am working hard to tame him

Enjoy your new birds!

Yup love my birds BUT don't get me wrong it's like having three two year olds sometimes to. My male green acts like is on coke (jumpy paranoid ,compulsive chewer ,preener)if I do not keep him occupied foraging ,my eyebrows ,arm hair, head hair will pay the preening price. My female hates my left hand and my feet don't know why (Probally ring) if I put hand down like a missile she fluffs up and aim for middle of finger or back of fingers . If I have no socks on rite for toes yet she cuddles into my neck preening hair with her little chirps. If I startle my pionus Micky he will grab finger he has only bite hard once thank god . But I love them all great antics and great companion's.
