Hello.

Just popped into the introductions quickly to say hi and will then be leisurely browsing the forum the rest of the night lol.

My user name is just something I randomly came up with. Made me giggle at the time whilst trying to decide on something. You can take it as "wrong bird...lady" or "wrong, bird-lady"
In reality we are a family of 4, originally from the UK but living in the UAE the last 6months.

We are relatively new to birds and currently have 2 cockatiels but have a blue headed pionus on the cards Have sourced the breeder we want to use...doing ongoing research on the species...just waiting on finances really as we need to move house in the next few months and don't want to purchase until that's sorted.

Surprised to see a few people from neighboring Dubai on here. Since we're new here it would be great to get in touch with local keepers, even by e-mail! Sourcing decent stuff over here without contacts can be a pain!

I'm already on a chat forum for cockatiels but wanted somewhere I could get more information on the pionus and other birds in general.

Added pictures of our 'teils. We have learnt that Tenchi loves Ryo but she's not too fussed lol
To be honest we are waiting for 'her' missing tail feathers to all come through to see if she is indeed a girl, but all the behavior is pointing in that direction

I'm in Dubai and you are right getting good parrot stuff is very dificult. I'm ordering most of my toys and supplys on line and I'm looking for someone to share the shipping charges. I deal with a vendor who is even tgiving me a 25% discount on the pubished shipping and she have a grate collection and one of the best prices I found on the net.

It's weird that everyone is facing difficulties with finding good places to buy from.
Check this website www.dubaipetfood.com
They have all you need for parrots: Toys, cages, food, etc..
They deliver to you doorsteps, in Dubai you will get what you order in the same day, but other Emirates take a maximum of 7 days.
If anyone needs help regarding parrot related things in UAE, I know a lot since I've been looking for a good time, and I understand how it could be a bit difficult without the connections. Most sellers I know deal through instagram and delivery, and that makes it harder for non-Emiratis to find...
