Hello

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forums here and we bought a 6 month old sun conure about 4 weeks ago.

First, let me say that we just love and adore her. She (Cuddles) is one of the most loving, cuddly and funniest birds that I have ever seen. However, after about two weeks of having her, she started trying to bite when I go to get her out of her cage. Once I have her out, she's pretty much back to her little loving self again. I've been trying different things that didn't work. But, I did have a little better luck this morning with her, I just stood outside her cage (with door open) talking to her for a few seconds, used the targeting with her and she finally stepped up without biting me, so I had a treat waiting for her as soon as I brought her out of the cage. Going to try that again tomorrow morning.

Anyway, after we first got Cuddles, I started doing a lot of research on how to train her. Then I came across Micheal's video's for parrot trainging on YouTube and that's how I ended up here. : )

I have been reading through this site and through the forums for a few days now and learned a lot about training and caring for Cuddles. Sooo, I decided to join the forums. : )

Hello Robin and welcome to the forums! I agree michaels videos and blogs are very useful when it comes to information. I love watching his videos on youtube with kili and truman. :p Of course some of the tricks he teaches I wouldn't do, just because i wouldn't feel to comfortable with doing them but they are neat nonetheless. I hope you enjoy it here, I sure am. :D
