Hey everyone from U.S. !

I've been looking for a forum like this for quite awhile and I'm happy to say it wasn't as elusive as I thought it would be. From what I've read, everyone seems very cordial and eager to offer their best advice. I am very new to having a green cheek as part of my bird family...Sandoval is a character, and he still hasn't given me the sign that he's comfortable hanging out with or on me, like grinding his beak. He's nippy, but just as sweet as he is ornery. :gcc: I've also got a pair of parrotlets, the female is a lucida, and the male is a normal celestial/pacific parrotlet. I'm feeding their second clutch right now, I had no idea they would be so in love and eager to make their little babies. But, it's what they do...This clutch has four babies, two males and two females. One of the girls is a normal green and one is a lucida, blue on her rump and blue eyeliner like her momma. It goes without saying that I adore them all. Nod is a female lucida from their first clutch, and she was so sweet, I just couldn't part with her. There may be some of you out there who know what I mean. I just wanted to introduce myself and my fids and I look forward to becoming a part of your online community. I have bird fever...that's for sure.
Sincerely,
Tracie

p.s.

I'd appreciate any advice from other people with gcc regarding trust exercises and socialization...and flight suits...preferably, how to make them as I cannot afford to buy one, lol.

Hi and Welcome!

Did you say that your green parrotlet has a blue rump and blue eyeliner? I believe that's a boy then ;)

The biggest two advices I can give you are.... Don't clip the wings and take him outside as much as you can in a harness or a carrier to socialize. Socialization is very important :)
