hello everyone,im new to this forum and new to parrots so i will be asking for a lot of advise if that is ok with everyone.
i have inherited a pair of african greys who are avairy birds(not pets).he is not friendly but is not freaked out by me ,whereas she is totally freaked out by me.i try not to make eye contact with her at all and this seems to keep her calm.any advise anyone can give me about gaining their trust ,also i would like them to eat a wider range of fresh foods but so far any introductions to new stuff has ended up at the bottom of the cage.please help,i would be grateful for any advise that could help.
by the way i have had the birds for approx 2 weeks and i know it might be a long journey. thanks :

they share the same cage? if they do the first thing would be another cage it will make it easier to bond with you if they are apart, just until you can build more of a relationship with you, when they have eachother they don't need you. you cleaning up and feeding them does not impress them.the best way to get them to try new food is to eat the same they are flock birds and now you are a part of their flock so they'll at least try whatever they see you eating whether they like it or not they will at least try it.the good thing with them is it's never to late. my first was almost 30 when i inherited him and had little human contact outside of his cage and it took a few months but he came around.
