He was really good till a couple of months back. I've taught him to say a few things and he knows how to step up and down. He just has a shrieking and biting problem. Any time I'm not giving him attention he will shriek continuously even if he is out and about for the most part of the day and no matter what I try he won't stop. He bites as well if he is sitting on my shoulder for a long period of time and I try to take him off. Can someone help me?
Welcome to the forum.
Short answer, yes, there is help and methods to work with this.
Long answer, its complicated. You have to first realise that you have tought him these behaviours through rewarding (unknowingly, I am sure) them.
We will need more details from you regarding both issues, so I suggest you post in general parrot care or basic taming.
Whats probably happened, is that you have previously given in to the screaming, and by responding to him in any way, you have reinforced that behaviour as something that works to get your attention. This is hard work to get through and reverse, but it can be done. We had a screaming issue, but managed to replace all screaming for attention with a wolf whistle.
It is the same with biting, your parrot has learned that through biting it gets what it wants, in this particular case, staying on your shoulder.
