Adding a Parrot

Anyone out there have Red Bellied Parrots? I don't want them for breeding just like theit personality.
Help!
I have a red bellied female 5 years old and would like another one. She is awesome and I would like another but afraid I will lose the closness we have. I have noticed some people have more than one and they do well together.
Do I have to get another type of parrot or can I get a male.

if you don't want to breed why not another female.you won't lose the bond you already have it's when you get 2 at once that makes it difficult but not impossible to bond with them.i got penny as a companion for my after i had to give his to my aunt because she hated me and loved my aunt.after my passed my had never lived without another bird and was not doing well so now we have mya who wants nothing to do with but he's happy to have someone else to fly with.

Rambo pretends he does not like Myrtle but when he thinks no one else is around they eat and play together with a constant "da da" sound. If they are in different rooms and want the other they yell "come're".
