once loved now not so much

Help!! i have a 1 yr old senegal parrot and i was the apple of its eye but now unfortunately my bird has turned on me. Here is why my bird is named Jazzy and he/she flies around my house but one day he/she flew into the window and would not let me touch him/her so in order to keep it safe i threw a towel over jazzy picked jazzy up and put back in the cage. Now everytime i go near the cage jazzy isnt happy with me at all. Jazzy does not want to go back into the cage and bites me and draws blood . I hope someone can give me advise on how to earn her love back for i truely miss my feathered buddy sitting on my shoulder and following me everwhere i go. I hope Jazzy can return to his/her normal self. Sorry for the he/she thing but i dont know the sex. So please help me out with this someone

Retaming. Just follow the basic steps of taming/training over again. It will go much quicker than the initial training. It will be familiar and effective. If you've never done it before, now's a good time to establish this.

Thanks i will start from the beginning and hope for the best its been only a week since jazzy has been doing this. What i have noticed is that Jazzy will go back into the cage on his/her own but then sees me get up from the couch and then jazzy bolts back out of the cage so i cant shut the door before i can even get close she is squacking at me. Even if i sit beside the cage and talk to her she squacking and trying to get away from me.So i wondering do i leave jazzy alone or keep sitting beside the cage ? If i go away and leave jazzy alone it might be giving it what it wants and that might be awarding jazzy with what jazzy wants .I dont want to give the wrong signals to Jazzy what do you think??

It is like sending your kid to his room because you need quiet time. If the kid has lots of books, TV, phone and computer in his room then he wants to go there.

It is the same way with a bird. Mine keep their stuff in their cage such as food, water and favorite hanging toys. Rambo claimed a little cage that would be just big enough for one budgie for his sleeping cage on top.

Hi, Kimbos Im going thru the exact same thing with a :gray: that I bought from another owner. what i have been doing is just letting him do his own thing he will let me reach in his chage to feed him, i open his door to let him come out if he wants to or not. I also did the towel thing and that just make the situation worst as I dont want him to be terrified of me anymore than he already is. he has his days when i can get close to his cage and dont freak out, and he's not as nervous as he once was, so i hope im headed in the right direction with him if not anyone please let me know otherwise. hoping one day he lets me touch him it's been almost 4-months now. so I understand your pain and frustration......karl
