Hiya, welcome to the forum.

Most birds usually sleep/rest on one foot so that isn't a problem unless you notice any other signs that all is not well. I've never noticed ant of my 'tiels doing it though so it may just be something thats species specific. That said I've never had a 'tiel which eats with their foot until I got Harlie lol.

Okay:) he does it throughout the day he gets all cozy and tuckes it in his feathers. I have only worked with a few conures but not many. I got him because i couldnt see him put to sleep or gone to a bad owner:( he "was a biter" but yet in the week i have had him he has only bitten twice he allows me to cradle him like a baby and he even knows a new trick! Its the im gonna kill this bird bang! And he goes limp and drops his head while hes laying on his back in my hands:) haha! Does he trust me if hes letting me hold him on his back? And hes constantly grooming me! How dare i stop him...he pulls my hair and screams at me! He sure is an odd one he fit right in the first day he came home he acted like he was here his whole life!

Thats green cheeks for you, they are confident little things. That said, lying on their backs is a really vulnerable position for them to be in so yes I would say he trusts you already. Most green cheeks can go through nippy stages throughout their lives so don't be suprised if he does start at some point but it can be dealt with by ignoring it and the bites will get less and less.

It sounds like Appollo lived his whole life waiting for YOU to love him. Thank you for saving him.

What an awful waste of life his death would have been. He was odviously mistreated and neglected before you got him. He had so much love to give and no one to give it too.

Yes he trusts you a lot. You are probably the first one he could trust and depend on. How long have you had him? What is his age?

My little girl Myrtle was neglected and abused before I got her. It took a long time to earn her trust. She is now so trusting that she comes to me if something is wrong. I don't know what was wrong but last night she insisted on sleeping with me. Since I don't know what is going on in her little bird brain I gave up and let her sleep with me, 3 dogs and a cat last night. She seems better this morning.

My birds don't sleep on one foot at night but sometimes take their afternoon naps that way. I don't understand why but they all do it so I guess it is okay.

Nice to have you in the forum.

Iv had apollo for maybe a week. And hes turning 8yrs aug 15th. And he just adores me if something startles him he flys and hides under my hair :) i keep saying i love you and he trys to repeat but it seems like he wants talking to be top secret! He gets upset if i dont say hello and goodbye he will do the high pitch scream thing. But other than that he dont really talk hes pretty quiet. How would i go apon encourging him to make noise when he makes the scream he get no attention what so ever so he sorta stopped that one but he just dont say to much he was trained to be very quiet and its natural for birds to sqack up a storm! But he dont!
