My name is Joanna and I have a houseful, to be sure. 3 dogs, 2 birds, and a cat. But as this is the parrot forum, I'll skip to my birds.
Captain Jack Sparrow (who's not a sparrow) is a 6 year old senegal and has me wrapped around his little talons. Recently I started spending a lot more time with him and we've now bonded. He knows step-up and is relatively friendly to everyone except my brother. Just today Jack bit him right on the nose, and he's never done that with anyone else. Is there a way to bond him with my brother? Like I said before, he's normally not a biter, and I'm not sure what prompted this. He's never liked him, though, and I"m sure my brother feels the same way. I think Jack senses the dislike.
We just got a new parakeet about four days ago. Someone found him and since we know a little about birds from Jack, we took him in. Birdie is very skittish, flies everywhere, but has bonded to my brother. Whoever had him before did work with this bird somewhat; he knows step up and doesn't bite. is there a way to make this bird less skittish? I know it will take time. Thank you for your time.
