Me and my 'tiel

Postby Cockatielsongs » Mon Jul 09, 2012 1:48 am

I want to introduce myself and my bird as I have just joined The Parrot Forum. I aqquired a young male cockatiel from a pet shop two months ago, his wings were clipped (unfortunately) He trusts me and enjoys training and playing with me, he bites but according to what I've read here it's probably because his wings are clipped :( Captain (my 'tiel's name) knows how to step up, step down, high five and turn around :D Does anyone have any idea what else I could teach Captain? He refuses to wave because he doesn't like letting go of my hand... I love him to bits! :greycockatiel:

Welcome to the forum. Captain sounds wonderful.

You can pretty much train captain anything you could a larger bird, cockatiels are very clever. Have you seen the video of kili doing 20 tricks in 2 minutes? you may be able to get some ideas off of that. Also Michael has step by step guides to some of the tricks on his blog.
