Hi, New Parrot owner!

Postby luv4tigger25 » Fri Jul 27, 2012 9:14 am

Well I grew up with parrots all my life. My aunt has 6 they are all rescues and she has trained them very well. They do all kids of tricks. she takes them to schools and does shows with them. I have helped her and learned so much.. I also know how to trim the nails and wings. I started looking about 6 months ago for my first parrot. We adopted her from a rescue. She is a 2 year old orange winded amazon. She is very shy, and only knows step up. She doesn't talk yet and is unsure about being pet. she will allow any one to hold her but and she doesn't bite, just holds your finger. She is a beautiful bird and we are so happy to have added her to our family. She is now in her new forever home!!! She will need lots of love attention training and patience to be a happy secure friendly bird..

Welcome to the forum. I just love to hear "rescue" and "forever home". It is not easy when a bird or kid comes from another household with memories. I hope you got some backround of where she came from.

I saw the places my bird rescues came from. It helps to understand them.
