First Parrot came home 2 days ago!!!

Hannah here, I brought my first parrot home Sat. she is a Red Bellied !!!! She is still on one hand feeding a day. I have talked to her, fed her, and sat with her in a towel on my chest, she steps up , and I can stroke her head. The question I have is every time I try to set her down to try an play with her . . . . she trys to fly off!! The breeder trimmed her wings a little before I picked her up, but I am worried she is going to really hurt herself. What should I do???

Follow her. Birds are meant to fly. Be a momma bird and help her along.
