I am here at this forum to gather information and such BEFORE i get my bird. I would really like to own an African Grey but I am looking into something smaller first. I have found a Nanday Conure that needs a home and I am considering him greatly. I hope I can find some Nanday owners and get some information. I found this forum through Kili's owner on Youtube :) LOVE your videos. Glad to be here and can't wait to poke around and get to know some of you :)

Welcome!

It's great that you're doing a lot of researach before you get your bird! With parrots it's definitely easier to prevent problems than to deal with them after the fact. And a lot of problems can be prevented by getting a type of parrot that suits you. Good luck with your research!

Make sure you get a bird that you truly want. Too often birds get rehomed because people want to get a 'starter' bird but then they quickly realize that they're not happy with it because it wasn't what they really wanted in the first place. I wanted a macaw but I decided one wouldn't be a good first bird so I went with a smaller parrot too, after a lot of research I decided on a Yellow Crowned Amazon :amazon:. I'll still get a macaw one day, but my first bird will always be #1 to me :D .

Hope you enjoy the forum!

Hi and welcome!

My first bird is my Senegal Noodle. I was actually holding out and waiting to get an african grey but I visited a pet store and fell in love with Noodle.
I love her to bits!
I now have my african grey too so my flock is full and happy!
