Hello Everyone!

Postby Britiny » Mon Oct 29, 2012 2:16 am

Hi all. My name is Britiny, and my husband and I are the happy owners of a 10 month old Senegal, :senegal: named Phoebe. I'm new to the parrot forum here, but I'm in the process of training Phoebe tricks and other fun and useful things to do with her time instead of clinging to mommy all day and pooping everywhere. So I'm hoping this particular site will give me some extra insight on parrot training.

Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure the trick training will make her poop any less, ha ha, but it is a lot of fun teaching our feathered friends new tricks. I am working with mine to teach them to do the Hokey Pokey.

Have fun! Looking forward to hearing about her progress.

Thanks Karma! And Yes, Thanks to the training videos, Phoebe (My African Senegal) has made leaps and strides! She already knew "Step up" when we got her 5 months ago. She now has "Wave" down packed! She turns around on cue, and is learning how to play dead. And...., she is learning to only poop on her perch, by rewarding her with yummy treats every time she does it, and of course looking for the "TAIL" tell signs that she's about to go and quickly putting her on the perch right before she does it. I think she's smarter than my Husband :) But seriously, I'm sooooo great full I discovered this website and the videos. By the way, how is the hoky poky trick coming along? -Britiny
