Good day
trying to tame ringneck and am using gloves as bird is biting me and use gloves to get it out of cage and play with it as it bites alot and need to know what else can be done ,if this idea is bad as gloves provide protection and bites sore, any advice pls.

Welcome.

Please stop using force to get your bird to do what you want, the situation will never improve and may even get worse by doing this.

For ideas on better ways to go about it and avoid being bitten then read Michaels parrot training blog. He has articles on taming and training. They are pretty easy to follow and put in practice too.

Once you are doing these things if you have any specific questions just ask :)

my first :amazon: was cage bound from many years of neglect. i tried the glove thing and it only made things worse. try just opening the cage door and let your :irn: come out on it's own talk to it and just lay your hand flat maybe with a treat until it comes to you. it's going to take a while to gain it's trust given the method you've been using but it can be done with time and patience. don't be in such a hurry you have many years with your bird.there will come a day when you won't be able to keep it off you.flight helps with biting as well.
