I just wanted to introduce myself and my new adopted adorable member of my family called Barty an African grey Congo parrot who is 17 years old. Unfortunately He has a plucking problem. The habit started when he was living with my boyfriends dad around 5 years ago. My boyfriends dad has had Barty since he was born and recently he has found a new partner and spends a lot of time away from home . his chest is completely bald along with his legs he has also had a go at his wing feathers

. I have had barty around 2 months now and I love having him around and I'm hoping that i can help to bring him back to full health and he has adjusted quite well to his new environment surprisingly as I know from researching the web they do not like change.
It's quite amazing how attached I have become to a point where I will rush around in the morning to make his scrambled eggs , fresh water and supplementary foods before I set off to work and then make my 9 year old to sort his own breakfast !,
I'm looking forward to see what I can Learn from this forum (apologies for the long winded introduction)
