Me too :D
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Previous birds were tiko and Casey. The new bird will be Foehammer if it's a boy, Justice if it's a girl. We're nerds, that's why =p

At first I wanted to name my lovebird based on her personality, but Bipolar just didn't seem to have a nice ring to it. So Daisy it was. :swaying:

A psychologist friend called his conure "Schizo". I always wondered if it was self-fulfilling prophecy, because the bird fit the bill. I'd say "Daisy" was a good call!

Thank you, this is soooo cool!! :) And actually I love Piloo music, i just never knew what it's called! ;)
however, we might not be getting the little guy finally... he appears to be really sick and I think the rescue person might be trying to get rid of him too fast....

I love Greek stuff too! :) And particularly hero / god names, they suit parrots personalities very well I find.

I named Peanut because when we got her, she wasn't sexed. (She still isn't, we're assuming she's female, hopefully she is because she says 'pretty girl'. ) and Peanut can go both ways. Also, I didn't want a fruit name like Mango or a tropical-sounding name like Tiko or whatever. Her nickname is Nut-wut. :D

I *had* a canary (returned him because I was afraid I would stress him out too much or hurt him) and I named him Pippin. I quite like the name, possibly any future birds will be named Pip. Also, I've been writing a fantasy book and in search of names, I came across Iss and Kona. Iss means ice in Old Norse and Kona means woman (the character was named Isskona because she was goddess of ice). Also, if you have a male bird and you're going for a cool-sounding unique name, Valdyr means wolf. :D

I'm not sure about the meanings of some of the names on that list, I've been living in Australia for a few years and never heard of budgie meaning 'good'. The only reference to budgies, outside of aviculture, is used when describing an item of mens swim apparel currently made 'popular' by the opposition leader Tony Abbott....

We were tempted to name our ringneck Snuggles, but my boyfriend got cold feet on the name when he thought about the life expectancy of an IRN. He didn't want to be introducing his bird as Snuggles when he's in his late 60s... His birdliness is now called Nila Sa (meaning ultra marine, the closest we could find to turquoise blue), but is still referred to as mr snuggles at home a lot. He actually answers to a few names; Nila, snuggles and 'oi you little monster, don't eat that!'.
