Fingers crossed that George will never have night frights at all. My 'tiel was awful for his first several months...we made more than one late-night emergency trip to the vet because he always broke a blood feather too low for me to get the darn thing out myself.

That's remarkable that he will let you open his beak already. It took me ages to teach Weebo to do that for me. George sounds like a good little boy!
